Diversity and Representation @ City Hall - A Panel

Our city is incredibly diverse, with 49 of the population being born outside of the country. Yet, this diversity is not reflected in Toronto City Council. Women and people of colour in particular are not adequately represented.

What prevents members of these communities from participating in the municipal electoral process? Why does this gap in representation exist?

Join us on March 2nd, as ASSU presents a panel discussion dealing with the issue of the lack of diversity on Toronto City Council. The panel will be moderated by Professor Alissa Trotz and will feature:

- Ward 27 Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam

- Former Ward 20 Councillor Ceta Ramkhalawansingh and

- Former Ward 1 Candidate for Councillor Idil Burale
