Claire Chase brings her Density 2036 project to Toronto.

A rare opportunity to experience the nuance and virtuosity of Chase's solo performance in Canada. Chase commissions an entirely new body of repertory for solo flute each year, advancing towards an epic 24-hour marathon of solo flute in 2036 in celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Edgard Varèse’s groundbreaking 1936 flute solo, "Density 21.5".

In anticipation of this trailblazing project we can feel the energy of composers Steve Reich, Du Yun, Marcos Balter, Jason Eckardt, Mario Diaz de Leon and Edgard Varèse. A must-see!
