Here’s the ‘cred of behind our stellar line up:

Headliner: Rob Mailloux

“It is important to have comedy clubs that are willing to take a risk in booking comedians who have something to say,” says Tyler Morrison (Creative Director of the Cottage Country Comedy Festival, touring partner of Rob). Enter Rob Mailloux, who not only believes this…but he’s been banned from performing at Absolute Comedy Clubs and Yuk Yuk’s for his vocal slayings. Curator and founder of the Dark Comedy Festival, Rob’s been all over the country, has released a DVD My Mother Would Be Proud, among a host of other stellar credits.

The Hunks

Mark Little is the most prolific comedy performers currently in Toronto’s scene. (*Comedy Uncovered’s words; not his!). He’s a gifted at stand Up, improv, sketch and acting. Just check out his mad street skillz: founding member of the sketch comedy group Picnicface, whose television show (Picnicface) aired on The Comedy Network in 2012. Picnicface also released a book in 2011 (Picnicface’s Canada, HarperCollins), and a movie, Roller Town, which Mark co-wrote and starred in, distributed by D Films. Mark plays Simon Hunt in the CBC sitcom Mr. D, has written for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and starred in one episode of Jason Priestly’s HBO series Call Me Fitz. He’s opened for Paul F. Tompkins in both Canada and the U.S., and he’s appeared in the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival the past five years, filming three gala performances in the process. Mark recorded a Comedy Now special in 2011.

As a stand-up and sketch performer, Mark has appeared at the San Francisco Sketchfest, the UCB in LA and NYC, the Hollywood Improv, and the Gotham in New York. He’s a favourite of the Halifax Comedy Festival and a regular contributor to The Debaters on CBC Radio/TV. He is also one half of the team responsible for the award-winning web series Dad Drives. (He plays the dad.)

Laura Cilevitz has one the most recognizable bone structures on Canadian television, though people are still learning her name, mostly how to pronounce it. A comedic actress and writer, Laura got her start as a sketch comedian in the Canadian Comedy Award winning sketch troupe The Sketchersons. She does TV and stuff now, you can watch her on Match Game on Comedy Network, on NBC’s new sketch show pilot, or during the commercial break when you can watch her enthusiastically eat a salad.

He has showcased at improv festivals across North America including performances at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre in New York, the Second City Chicago and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Alex cut his teeth as a sketch performer in Sunday Night Live as one of the writing/performing cast members of the Sketchersons, and was the Head Writer and one of the stars of the hugely-acclaimed Feint of Hart immersive comedy rock opera spectacular which began as an artist residency at the University of Toronto and concluded in a run at performance lab space Videofag, as part of their inaugural season. He has been invited to create new works for the Rhubarb Festival at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre and Nocturne Halifax (Art at Night), and has created video content for the Toronto Star and VICE.

Caitlin Langelier

Winner of the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Cream of Comedy Award 2014, Caitlin is also the winner of three Nobel Peace Prizes in the category of “Best Dressed”. Self-described as “tearin’ it up” since having moved to Toronto at the tender age of 18, Caitlin has since earned many accolades: she’s appeared on The Cottage Country Comedy Festival, JFL 42, CBC Connects, and is currently a regular performer at Yuk Yuk’s Toronto’s prestigious Talent Development Program. She is also the winner of the Eugene Levy Writing Award, the Bite TV Sketch Award, and the Tim Sims Encouragement Award. She has opened for legendary performers such as Laurie Elliott, Dave Thomas, and Ron James. Also, Martin Short came to her show once and said he “enjoyed it very much,” when cornered.

Taylor Erwin

Taylor has performed comedy around Toronto and Ontario for the past seven years. He’s written and performed two one-man shows (Dating with Fire and Perfect on Paper) and has been a feature stand up in some of Toronto’s best rooms and clubs including Yuk Yuk’s, Absolute Comedy, The Rivoli, Spirits, Comedy Bar and others. His satirical humour aims to expose the fallacies of his old life as a 9-5’er and failed ‘ladiesman. Taylor’s training includes Second City Improv, Sketch and Comedy Writing. When Taylor’s not working out his neck, he’s busy as the Creator and Editor of Comedy Uncovered, a Toronto comedy industry magazine aimed to revolutionize the Toronto comedy scene. (You’re there right now, silly goose).
