Come Up To My Room (CUTMR) is the Gladstone Hotel’s annual alternative design event. CUTMR invites artists and designers to show us what goes on inside their heads. CUTMR is the Gladstone’s signature, self-produced design event that bends disciplinary boundaries and explores new ground with each passing year. Under wraps until the day it opens, the show inspires over 4,000 attendees with mind-twisting and 140-character-inspiring works of creativity.

New this year, CUTMR’15 extends its run to 10 days of design extravaganza at the Gladstone, with new programming, an exciting band night, and a symposium for Toronto’s largest alternative design exhibition.

- Design Pirates, a late night talk show styled event, Zahra Ebrahim and Fluffy Souffle, explore the new landscape of design where self-taught designers and credentialed professionals practice side by side;
- An evening of music and visual entertainment with Debaser and Weird Canada;
- An evening of music and art presented by Heretical Objects Cooperative;
- New this year, an opening and closing reception;
- Topped off by the no-to-be-missed annual Gladstone Love Design Party, the official closing party of the Toronto Design Offsite Festival. The Gladstone’s ballroom will be transformed into the world of installation and musical artist Petra Glynt (Alexandra MacKenzie).

The extended run and expanded scope is sure to make the 2015 edition of CUTMR the best yet! The exhibition will take over all floors of the 125-year-old historic hotel, inviting the creative community to take the temperature of contemporary practice and to explore the space between design, fine art, craft, landscape design, performance and sound installation.

CUTMR 2015 will once again play a pivotal role in connecting audience with the inspiring talents who build the foundation of Toronto’s contemporary art and design scene.

The exhibition, curated by Jaclyn Blumas, Robert Cram and Caitlin Plewes, has been running for over a decade and was voted the People’s Choice for the 2014 Toronto Design Offsite Festival. CUTMR’15 will once again play a pivotal role in connecting audience with the inspiring talents who build the foundation of our local community.
