CAMPFIRES – a Cultural Hotspot Exhibit

An evolving and interactive gallery installation about what we inherit, what we carry with us and what we choose to leave behind. Created by Community Arts Guild artists in collaboration with Scarborough community members.

With painting, costumes, masks, textile and multi-media installations, CAMPFIRES will also include live performances, celebrations and meals scheduled over the two weeks. Visitors will be invited to leave their mark and contribute to the growing installation.

Opening Reception: Tuesday May 20, 5-8 pm

Closing Reception: Thursday May 29, 5-8 pm

On the Doors Open weekend, please join us for outdoor campfires on the grounds and share food, storytelling, a burning ceremony, music, and a meal cooked on the outdoor cooking fire, including marshmallow roasting and s’mores. Bring your instrument and sing/jam, performances by Aanmitaagzi, Leave Your Mark youth theatre troupe/ghillie suits, Portraits of an Imagined Past (performed inside the gallery) etc. No Admission!
