Brooke Friendly ART-A-WAY

Toronto artist Brooke Friendly will be giving away 30 pieces of his original artwork at the Art Yard Gallery (30 Abell Street) on Sunday June 22, 2014 from 3-5pm.

The ART-A-WAY plans have been in the works since last January when Friendly made a New Year’s Resolution to be more charitable. This unique event promises to be exciting as the 30 paintings will be given away by lucky draw. Those present will choose a number and then select an art piece in the order of the numbers drawn. There will also be a separate draw at the end of the event and one person in attendance will win a large custom painting to be created this year. The 30 pieces of abstract art took the artist 3 months to create.

Brooke Friendly was born in Toronto, Canada and works predominantly in the medium of painting in his installations. He has a distinctive process where without the use of a brush, he blends and pours multiple layers of paint into a conscious interpretation of art and form. The result is abstract art pieces that are filled with vivid colour and fluid movement. “I believe that my art is not the manifestation of my actions” says Friendly “but rather the actions that unveil the truth of my craft.” Friendly has clients across Canada and has shown his work in Ontario and Quebec.

He has recently been featured on Art Bomb as well as competed at several live Art Battles in the GTA. While viewing the art, participants will be able to enjoy refreshments that are being generously provided by Chef Mitch Lipperman of Exquisite Gourmet.
