Bread and Puppet presents: The Lubberland National Dance Company

The LNDC was formed 10 years ago with the help of local volunteers as an urgent dance revolt against unbearable news of circumstance and is the revival of the "Gruppe Fuer Neuen Tanz" which Peter Schumann founded 60 years ago in Munich, Germany.

The dances are created from simple instruction, either as a result of a short workshop or directly as public participation dances. They range from traditional truth-relationship to public opinion making dances, and from collateral damage to warmonger defiance dancing.

The current unbearable news: Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has announced a major escalation of Canadas role in the new US-led war in the Middle East.

We call to arms! And legs! We call all citizenry to utilize your finger pointing dance skills; we need wobbly knees to move the hunched-over populace; We want big voices and little voices to accompany defiant shoulders; We need bartenders and bakers and brick-layers to shake toes against the war-for-oil-market-stability at hand.

No experience or head-shots needed! Our costume for the performance will be our everyday clothing. All interested must be able to attend the full rehearsal and performance. We want you! We need you! Spread the word!

VOLUNTEER REHEARSAL: 1pm - 5pm

POTLUCK: 5pm-6pm bring food to share - and your own plate and utensils!

FINAL RUN-THROUGH: 6:15pm

PERFORMANCE: 8pm
