Beam Me Up: Al Kents Million Dollar Disco

Witness Al Kent and his Million Dollar Discos return to Toronto for a special one night affair with Beam Me Up at Geary Lane! If you were at BLK BOX for his set last year then surely he needs zero introduction, but, seeing as he is our absolute favourite, well take the time to wax poetic about the man we consider the best disco deejay in the world

Called Scotlands answer to Walter Gibbons by Joey Negro, Al Kent plays Disco like no other. His sound is immense and organic, paying homage in equal measure to both Northern Soul and House in a fusion that resonates big and raw, synchronously. Held in high regard by contemporaries like Theo Parrish, Dimitri From Paris, Rahaan, Sadar Bahar and Horse Meat Disco, Al Kent is a well of Disco wisdom, but this intelligence doesnt mean he sequesters himself in sonic snobbery, for what he provides is pure dance floor delirium; the mans groove will make you move.

The task of revving up the pre-Al Kent revelry will be handled by Beam Me Up residents Cyclist & A Digital Needle, all on the phonically first-rate 40hz Soundsystem, with visuals created and orchestrated by Doc Dynamite. This is another Disco jam not to miss!

Tickets can be nabbed in person at Soundscapes, Rotate This and Play De Record, with a limited run of tickets to made available online in the next few days.
