FAT 2015 goes wild with Asphyxias stormy, passionate and decidedly non-traditional bridal collection GOSSAMER, an honest tribute to sex, love and nature that combines glamour and romanticism with the Canadian Wilderness.
The collection soars with romanticism in tones like pearl and alabaster, contemplates the depths of longing and devotion in plum, amethyst and obsidian, and storms with raw passion in silver and gold.
Featuring silky, translucent fabrics and diaphanous textures, GOSSAMER is brought to life by raw wilderness elements like feathers, skeletal leaves, foraged natural elements and floral touches, plus Asphyxias trademark use of vintage lace, salvaged beadwork, lavish ribbon and memento mori treasures.
Its a celebration of all that is wild in true nature and true love a bridal collection unlike any other. You wont want to miss it.
About Asphyxia
Asphyxia www.asphyxiadesigns.com is Alexandra De Francesco, a fashion designer and textile artist. A graduate of OCADU, De Francesco creates spectacular wearable art couture, which also incorporates her flair for floral design. Asphyxias work has been called bad-ass femininity, dark and daring, pin-up dominatrix chic, punk goth power, and bordello in hell. Her most recent collection, BEAUTIFUL & DAMNED spotlighted scarlet sirens, dazzling dames and hedonistic headdresses at FAT2014, featuring new heights of glamour and grit combined. In 2013, her collection BLUSH & ALABASTER was a spectacular tribute to Marie Antoinette and her Milliner-Dressmaker. Asphyxia has exhibited at the Textile Museum of Canada, The Gladstone Hotel and Gallery X, her work has been featured in Auxiliary Magazine, and she has been a featured designer in Darkvanity and OCAD's Tour De Force, among other shows. Asphyxia has presented collections yearly at FAT since 2008. Regular attendees know her not just for her fashion, but also for her magnificent performance art runway shows.
