DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Toronto's favorite Sewing and Design Studio is very excited to be opening t=
he doors to our fabulous new Bloordale=20
location! Please come and help us celebrate this special occasion by wearin=
g your favorite handmade garments and accessories! You made it and now it's=
time to show it off - the DIY revolution is here!=20

The Make Den (www.themakeden.com) was founded with the intention of creatin=
g a space where people could create their own fashion, and where the excite=
ment and satisfaction of "Making it Yourself" was accessible, easy and fun.=
A space where design and creativity would be complimented with serious sew=
ing and tailoring skills, top notch equipment and amazing teachers. Nurturi=
ng the next generation of Canadian fashion designers and inspiring creativi=
ty and self sufficiency=20
since 2010, and offering sewing classes for complete beginners all the way =
up to Advanced Tailoring and Couture Dressmaking, Bag Making, Quilting and =
Fabric Art classes, The Make Den has classes for everyone.

After three years as part of 69 Vintage Collective in the upcoming Bloordal=
e neighbourhood, we are proud to be opening the doors to our spacious new s=
tudio,=20
at 1244 Bloor St. W., just across the street from our former location. In a=
ddition to our well equipped new sewing space, we will be unveiling our bra=
nd new screen printing and textiles studio, a new retail space for fabric, =
patterns and sewing notions. Over the coming months we will be rolling out =
a new lineup of fun fashion based classes in 2013 including Haute Couture T=
echniques, Millinery classes, Jewellery classes and 3D printing workshops w=
ith Hot Pop Factory. (www.hotpopfactory.com)

Hot Pop Factory is a collaboration between design duo Bi-Ying Miao and Matt=
hew Compeau. They started Hot Pop Factory,=20
a small company specializing in the use of 3D printing as an experiment in =
personal manufacturing and mass customization.=20

Their first project is a collection of 3D printed jewellery called Stratigr=
aphia, which they see as a first step in=20
teaching people about emerging 3D technologies. Their goal is to empower in=
dividuals to take ownership of the objects and spaces they use and inhabit =
each day.=20

Hot Pop Factory will be at The Make Den on Nov 30th to demonstrate 3D print=
ing technology

Millinery classes will be taught by Corinne Monique and Jade Kinrade. Corin=
ne trained at the Paris American Academy,
where she learned the art of Millinery from Jean Paul Gaultier and has work=
ed for Greta Constantine, House of Spy and Wildhagen Hats. Jade has worked =
with Heidi Ackerman, Wildhagen Hats and has shown at Toronto Alternative Fa=
shion Week.

Fascinator workshops will give students the opportunity to experiment with =
sinamay ribbon, feathers and
blocking techniques. 8 week Advanced Hat Making classes will allow students=
to experiment with various hand sewn hat-making techniques using wool felt=
 and couture finishing.=20

"I MADE THIS MYSELF" is a celebration of all things that have been made wit=
h love, and by hand - right here in our awesome city.
