Relationship Building, by Eshan Rafi looks at the creative process of build=

munities. On a broader scale, it explores relationship building as a strate=
gy that counters fragmentary, uniform and divisive institutions and systems=
. Closer to home, it celebrates the important work we do everyday of buildi=
ng and sustaining relationships. The
process of building is closed to the public but the documentation will be o=
n view for all at the launch party.

Getting to the point...
To talk about accessibility is to acknowledge who is being included, and wh=
o is being left out. The Points of Access series looks critically at differ=
ent understandings of accessibility. Artists Erica Brisson, David Yu, Eshan=
 Rafi, Tamara Plati=C5=A1a and Sa=C5=A1a Raj=C5=A1i=C4=87 create scenarios =
in which viewers and/or participants animate relationships of inclusion/exc=
lusion, participation, and permeability. Through these relationships, the a=
rtworks in the series address the idea of =E2=80=9Caccess=E2=80=9D in relat=
ion to political borders, queer and racialized communities, civil discourse=
, and public space.

Points of Access series also responds to the limitations of conventional ar=
t audiences. The entry points for the works =E2=80=93 street interventions =
and person-to-person conversations =E2=80=93 actively engage audiences beyo=
nd the art community. These are concrete alternatives for the relationship =
between art and audience.
