Critically acclaimed director/actor David Tompa (for Red One Theatre: T=
ape, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Proof) brings together Shaw Festival vet=
eran Jeff Irving (Sound of Music-Mirvish Prod., December Man), and internat=
ional actress Helen Johns (London Classic Theatre=E2=80=99s Abigail=E2=80=
=99s Party, CTV=E2=80=99s The Listener) in this highly provocative British =
comedy: Eigengrau. Appearing alongside them are rising film and television =
actor Kristian Bruun (Flying Horsie Films=E2=80=99 Blood Pressure, CTV=E2=
=80=99s Murdoch Mysteries) and emerging talent Claire Armstrong (Ghostly En=
counters, Calendar Girls).

Rose (Helen Johns) believes in true love and believes that Mark (Jeff I=
rving) is it. Her flatmate Cassie (Claire Armstrong) lobbies parliament on =
behalf of a feminist organization, but struggles with a burgeoning attracti=
on to Mark, who seems to know little of women=E2=80=99s rights. Meanwhile M=
ark=E2=80=99s flatmate Tim Muffin (Kristian Bruun) struggles to get out of =
bed in the morning. =E2=80=A8

Penelope Skinner's elegantly plotted play premiered in London at the Bus=
h Theatre in 2010 to critical acclaim. The Guardian dubbed it a =E2=80=9Ch=
ugely enjoyable tragic-comedy, an urban fairytale about a generation with n=
othing left to believe in while adrift in the big city. The play is brillia=
ntly funny; the fantastic lines coming fast and furious.=E2=80=9D In 2011 M=
s. Skinner was the recipient of both the Evening Standard and George Devine=
Awards for Most Promising Playwright. Perfect Darkness=E2=80=99 Toronto pr=
oduction will mark the premiere of Eigengrau in North America, as well as t=
he first Canadian performance of a work by this exciting writer.=20

Eigengrau [ay-gen-gr-ow ] will be mounted at the Lower Ossington Theatre=
by Perfect Darkness Co-op, with support from the Red One Theatre Collectiv=
e, whose inventive and exciting productions have made them one of Toronto=
=E2=80=99s most unique and progressive young companies.=20

Please note that the play contains mature themes.
