In the summer of 2007, shortly after the release of their 6th album Icky Th=
ump, The White Stripes headed north of their hometown of Detroit to embark =
on an ambitious journey across Canada. The plan was to play a show in every=
 province and territory in Canada, from B.C. to Newfoundland to Nunavut. Be=
sides playing the usual venues they challenged themselves and played in bus=
es, caf=C3=A9s and for Indian tribal elders. =E2=80=9CHaving never done a t=
our of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go whole hog=E2=80=A6f=
rom the ocean to the permafrost=E2=80=9D says Jack White. =E2=80=9CWe wante=
d to play out of the way towns that don=E2=80=99t usually get shows=E2=80=
=A6the shows are better, it=E2=80=99s better for the people, it=E2=80=99s a=

Director Emmett Malloy followed the band and managed to capture both the sp=
ecial tour, extraordinary concert versions of the band's minimalist, raw, b=
lues-inspired rock songs and the special relationship between the extrovert=
ed Jack White and the introspective Meg White - a formerly married couple w=
ho for a long time claimed to be siblings.=20
