In this lecture, Elke will draw both on historic and contemporary reference=
s of exhibited architecture raising the question of how this process of cur=
ated communication is situated in-between architecture and the public. Elke=
 will show examples of her own work, specifically the research for "The For=
ce is in the Mind. The Making of Architecture" (Architecture Centre Vienna =
2008) and "Penser Tout Haut. Faire l=E2=80=99Architecture" (Centre de Desig=
n, UQAM, Montr=C3=A9al). She will reflect on her own practice as a curator =
of architecture and urbanism to give an opportunity to discuss the conversa=
tional turn in curating and ways in which knowledge is produced actively in=
 dialogue with others.

Elke Krasny is a Vienna-based cultural theorist, curator and writer as well=
 as a senior lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. In 2006, she was =
Visiting Professor at the University of Bremen. In 2011, she received the O=
utstanding Artist Award for Women=E2=80=99s Culture from the Austrian Feder=
al Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture.

Elke Krasny has edited and authored a number of books on architecture, urba=
nism, and urban historiography. Her writing has been published widely in ed=
ited volumes, exhibition catalogues and magazines. She has presented lectur=
es and contributed to panel discussions internationally.
