Opening Party: Friday, January 25, 7:00 - 9:00 PM

Come out and support the Oasis Skateboard Factory (OSF), Toronto=E2=80=99s =
innovative and award-winning skateboard design and street art focused alter=
native high school reengagement program! At OSF students earn all their cre=
dits by running an entrepreneurial business where they learn hands-on to bu=
ild skateboards, design original custom graphics, work with local artists a=
nd community partners, market and display their work and receive financial =
remuneration.

The OSF POP-UP SHOP is the culminating project in a business course develop=
ed by OSF in partnership with The Baitshop, Toronto=E2=80=99s premiere scre=
en-printing/skate shop and gallery. The OSF/Baitshop Business Program is de=
signed to help youth earn credits and develop transferable creative, employ=
ment and entrepreneurial skills.

At the opening party students will be selling their hand-made skateboards a=
nd longbords with custom graphics, as well as having a sample sale of their=
 street wear logo T-shirts and other products to launch their personal comp=
any brands. To give back to the community, a portion of the sales of Oasis =
Skateboard Factory merchandise will be donated to a local charity. This fre=
e public event, catered by gourmet Glory Hole Doughnuts, is presented by Th=
e Baitshop as part of the Toronto Design Offsite Festival and will feature =
OSF design collaborations with Local Designers, Roarockit Skateboard Compan=
y, Longboard Living and Concrete Wave Magazine.
