Beatboxers from across the country sent in video auditions and now the TOP =
16 contenders are competing in Toronto for the title to represent Canada on=
 the World Beatbox Battle stage. The bar is set high as they prepare to bat=
tle two-time defending Canadian Beatbox Champion, Terry Im, better known as=
 KRNFX (Canada=E2=80=99s Got Talent finalist).

=E2=80=9CThe competition this year =E2=80=93 Freedom of Beats, is about enc=
ompassing the raw history and foundation of beatboxing and making it your o=
wn,=E2=80=9D explains Gary Goudini, director of Beatbox Canada. =E2=80=9CIt=
=E2=80=99s a universal language and it=E2=80=99s becoming more and more flu=
ent as it becomes a way of life- a serious career for our artists.=E2=80=9D

2012 was a ground-breaking year for the underground beatbox scene as beatbo=
xers gained confidence and professionalism in building their brand. Nationa=
l and international recognition has brought this art form mainstream with c=
ampaigns and appearances through Telus, Coca-Cola, TVO, Much Music, MTV, Ti=
c Tac, McDonalds, Samsung, Arab=E2=80=99s and Canada=E2=80=99s Got Talent.
