DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Toronto artist Francisco Castro Lostalo showcases three-dimensional sculptu=
res and vibrant abstract paintings created using the white Italian Carrara =
marble panels removed from the exterior of downtown Toronto skyscraper Firs=

ble: Tribute to An Icon=E2=80=9D. The exhibit opens with a reception on We=
dnesday, September 12 from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. and runs to September 27, 2012=
at FCP Gallery, 100 King Street West, Toronto, coinciding with completion =
of the recent major rejuvenation project of First Canadian Place.

Castro Lostalo, a sculptor and multi-media artist, constantly seeks to chal=
lenge himself both creatively and technically. His strong belief in the ne=
ed to protect our planet and preserve its natural resources has fuelled his=
interest in creating art from recycled and re-purposed materials.=20

For this exhibition, he has added materials such as acrylics, resins and me=
tal to the marble to animate many of his diverse sculptural creations, whic=
h range from realistic and mythical figures to contemporary abstract works.=
He has even incorporated marble dust into his abstract paintings.
