Acoustic Addiction 1 Year Anniversary
Saturday April 6th, the Acoustic Addiction showcase will be taking place at Sneaky Dee’s in downtown Toronto in celebration of the one year milestone of the showcase’s launch. This time around, there will be performances by Dylan Hennessy and Jack Walker, both of whom played in the very first showcase one year ago, along with Debbie Shessel and Becky Prokova.
The showcase focuses on emerging acoustic-based singer/songwriters from around the GTA, taking place in various venues around the downtown core. What started off in a small venue near Yonge and Eglinton is now taking place in one of Toronto’s most acclaimed underground venues, Sneaky Dee’s.
Showcase founder Dylan Hennessy explains a bit about what’s in store this time. “We held the last showcase at Sneaky Dee’s for our charity event ‘Acoustic Addiction Gives Back’, and the energy in the room was just incredible that night. We are very fortunate to have been invited back to hold the showcase there again, as the energy there just feels right for the kind of show that we put on. We are very excited about this one.”
The showcase will also be in support of MusiCounts, a charity that accepts donations in order to fun music programs in underdeveloped communities that can’t afford music programs for their youth. At Acoustic Addiction Gives Back, over $400 was raised for the cause, and after seeing the difference it made, Dylan has decided to continue to support their cause.
Doors will be opening at 6:00 with performances beginning at 6:30 sharp. The cover is $7, and is a 19+ event.
