Paul Brandejs was born in the Czech Republic and immigrated to Canada with his parents , who settled in Saskatoon . As a teenager he attended summer painting courses at the Banff School of Fine Arts. He received three scholarships that enabled him to study under llda Lubane, an artist who had a profane impact on his work.

His passion for painting led him to study at the Ontario College of Art . He holds a four year Diploma in Fine Arts and a Diploma in Communications &Design Editorial Design . His final year of Fine Arts study was spent in Florence , Italy under the Canadian Figurative Artist , Tom La Pierre.

Paul has developed a unique art style , working with sculpted canvas with a variety of techniques. He creates his own stretcher frames which define the individual pieces as much as the actual application of media onto the canvas. Although he works with two dimensional images he brings them into the three dimensional world .
