HOME
It is said that there is a limit to the number of places and people that we can find familiar, even in a city of millions. Anthropologist Robin Dunbar proposes that we evolved with the capacity to understand and function within a cohesive group of perhaps 150. We therefore live with strangers and strangeness in a way that would have seemed impossible to our ancestors. One of the marvels of the modern city is that ways are still found to personalize and enliven our spaces — that in coping with the tension between the village of our past and the Gotham City-like metropolis of our present, we manage to thrive. This group exhibit honours that process, and is an ode to the resilience of "home".
