Hands Together: A joint benefit concert for Common Thread Community Chorus & Rainbow Songs Foundatio

Throw off the winter blues and get ready to welcome the coming spring by attending an afternoon of craft-making, fundraising, and musical entertainment for the whole family.

Hands Together is a joint benefit for local non-profits Common Thread Community Chorus and Rainbow Songs Foundation.

Common Thread Community Chorus is a 70-voice choir that sings for social justice and believes that it can change the world one song at a time. Since 1999, the choir has performed countless repertoires representing a diversity of cultural and linguistic heritages found throughout the world. The choir’s performances always succeed in inspiring and moving the audience to sing along.

Rainbow Songs Foundation provides interactive music programs to families with young children staying in emergency short and long-term shelters in the Greater Toronto Area. The goal of the organization is to make music accessible to families who would not otherwise be able to afford music lessons. The organization strongly believes that music can make a positive impact in the lives of children and youth. More information is available at http://foundation.rainbowsongs.com/

To ensure that both organizations can continue to make a positive impact locally and globally, the two have joined their “hands together” to present a Sunday event featuring a host of fun and creative activities that includes a silent auction with items donated by community members and applause-worthy performances by Common Thread Community Chorus, Common Thread Kids, and Rainbow Songs Foundation Teachers.

Silent Auction items will be available for early viewing from February 28 onward at www.commonthreadchorus.ca
