Voice of Patmos Exhibit
While exiled to the island of Patmos, John wrote the Book of Revelation, at the behest of a voice that provided a flood of detailed otherworldly scenes, urging their transcription. It is this literature which serves as the inspiration for The Voice of Patmos. Absorbed into an experience which demonstrated the redemption of existence via the certainty of vision, John provided a trove of imagery that was essentially concerned with the sublimation of innocent suffering into something that is ultimately beautiful in its resolution. Toronto-based illustrators Andrei Georgescu, Ginette Lapalme, Patrick Kyle, and Chris Kuzma continue the reverberations of the voice on Patmos by offering their own illustrative take on this crucially influential text.
The Opening Night Party will take place on Wednesday March 6th 2013 from 7-11pm at Steam Whistle Brewing at 255 Bremner Blvd or visit the brewery during all of March see the exhibition.
