Vector Day One: Vector Opening Reception and Tours

A not-for-profit initiative dedicated to showcasing contemporary game based artworks, Vector: Game + Art Convergence will be running at four venues over five days from Feb 20th-24th, in Queen West and Kensington in Toronto. Over these five days, Vector will feature exhibitions, screenings, workshops, performances and round table discussions, all with the intent of creating a critical dialogue about the medium of games and its expressive potential as a contemporary art practice.

Later in the day, join Team Vector as they celebrate the opening of the festival with a multi-venue reception. In ad hoc art crawl style, join Team Vector’s curators at each venue as they offer curatorial tours of each of the exhibitions.
The festivities begin with opening remarks at Interaccess, Electronic Media Arts Centre at 7pm. Afterwords, the tours will begin, starting with Other Worlds, the exhibition at Interaccess co-curated by Prosthetic Knowledge (Rich Oglesby) and mrghosty (skot deeming).
After the end of this tour, visitors are encouraged to follow Team Vector curators to Propeller, where Katie Micak and Clint Enns will offer a tour of the net.works survey exhibition.
From there, join Christine Kim as she explores what happens when young game makers are asked to create installation works in her Ludacy exhibition.
Then join us for drinks, have a conversation and interact with the works at any of the exhibitions.
