HIGHER LEARNING: Executive Producer Geraldine Moriba on CNN’s In America

Geraldine Moriba, Emmy®-winning executive producer of CNN’s In America, joins us on Tuesday, February 26 to discuss the process of producing short documentaries for television and the importance of reporting stories from America’s minority communities. The onstage conversation will feature clips from CNN’s In America, and will be followed by a Q&A session with post-secondary students and faculty.
As executive producer of CNN’s In America unit, Moriba is responsible for leading the editorial direction of the division and working closely with CNN anchor and special correspondent Soledad O'Brien. Before joining CNN, the Toronto-raised Moriba worked at NBC News, ABC’s PrimeTime Live, and served as a producer for CBC Radio’s nightly news and current affairs program As It Happens, covering stories ranging from the L.A. Riots to the Gulf War.
This event is a co-presented with the Black Artists' Network in Dialogue (BAND).

Same-day ticket availability: The remaining tickets for each event will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are limited to one per person and are available one hour before the event's start time at TIFF Bell Lightbox’s Steve & Rashmi Gupta Box Office, located at 350 King Street West.
