Award-winning author Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer in conversation with Ann Ireland
Performances by classical guitarists Michael Kolk and Alina Grunina.

What happens when a guitarist fails his greatest test? Ann Ireland’s new novel The Blue Guitar, a tale of love, art and redemption, is the focus of TINARS’ first event for 2013. Her book, published by Dundurn Press, dramatizes the lives that intersect with Toby, a talented musician who wants to come back from his biggest failure and make something of his life.

Ann Ireland is the author of three previous novels. A Certain Mr. Takahashi won the $50,000 Seal First Novel Award and was later made into the feature film The Pianist. The Instructor was nominated for the Ontario Trillium Award, and Exile received three national award nominations and was cited as one of the year’s best books by Quill & Quire magazine and The Globe and Mail.
