A Fond Husband (or The Plotting Sisters)

George Brown Theatre Presents:
A FOND HUSBAND (or The Plotting Sisters)
By Thomas D’Urfey
Directed by Blair Williams
Feb. 6th- Feb. 16th
A foolish cuckold, two plotting sisters, and a cast of libertine rascals populate this rollicking, fast-paced Restoration comedy which was a favourite of King Charles II (he attended three of the first five performances). In true libertine fashion D’Urfey makes no excuse for the ribald, sexual quests of his characters whose actions derive from their emotions and appetites rather than social conventions and rules. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this rarely performed sparkling gem.
