There has been no slowing down for the music scene in Toronto and 2012 strengthened that notion with more and more local artists taking over the radio, going on North American tours, and selling out venues all over the city. The Wake Up marks the start of another year and a new set of 4 MUST SEE artists. On Thursday, February 7th at Tattoo Rock Parlour join us as we introduce Jerzee “Tha Icon” with special guests Roddy Colmer, Zolo and 20 Amp Soundchild.
Jerzee “Tha Icon”
Jerzee “Tha Icon” of FameCity leads the way for a new generation of artists that fuse multiple forms of music and creating a unique sound that is impossible to ignore. Jerzee’s combination of melodic vocals, thought provoking rhymes, positive messaging all mixed with an electronic rock sound creates a musical hybrid that transcends Hip Hop and caters to a mass audience.
Jerzee’s unparalleled high energy live performances have allowed him to perform in venues all over North America and overseas, sharing the stage with the likes of Pitbull, Nelly, Sean Kingston, The Roots, T-Pain, Trey Songz and many more.
Jerzee has been featured in “The Source” magazine, featured as a panelist at the 2011 A&R Power Summit and was anointed “Most Promising Artist” at the Underground Hip Hop Awards in 2008. Jerzee and his band CrashDex spent the past summer and fall on Budweiser’s “Night Is New” tour in support of their new product “Bud Shot.”
Jerzee’s song writing, creativity, unique style, lifelong commitment and unyielding drive to be great ensures that this is a story that is just getting started. The pages that follow will be an incredible journey that will no doubt leave a definitive mark on our world.

Zolo
Born in the UK, raised in NYC and now residing Toronto, Dance/Pop artist Zolo is inspired by the work of influential artists like MGMT, Swedish House Mafia and Thunderheist, and quickly established a reputation for himself as the go-to DJ on the Dance/Pop scene.
After sampling tracks by superstars like The Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO, Zolo received numerous requests from his growing fan base to release some of his own material. The result was the electro-funk party anthem “Club Is Bumping,” an immediate success on the charts, landing Zolo #1 for MySpace downloads and cementing his status as an artist worthy of the buzz.
With his profile on the rise, Zolo released “Dance-Tape,” a full-length collection of in-the-red party jams that perfectly encapsulates the artist’s playful club culture vibe. Incorporating elements of electro, pop and hip-hop alongside a message that celebrates individuality and that it is “cool to be a nerd.”
