Beam Me Up Classic Disco
Toronto DJ's A Digital Needle and Cyclist are out to keep the spirit of disco alive, and to shine the light back on the genre that never died. John McLeod, one half of A Digital Needle, explains that disco is much more than polyester pop music. "When disco is done right, it's soulful, it's funky; you get lost in it's trance. It won't let you leave the dance floor, it won't let you stop. We play and dance all night, finally collapsing at sunrise in our beds, exhausted, because we love the music so damn much."
Feel the classic disco love this Saturday, January 12th, at their monthly night, Beam Me Up. It all happens on the Piston's booming back dance floor - 937 Bloor St West (Ossington Subway).
