Game Changer: How IT Innovation is Transforming Africa

A free public talk looking at how advancements in technology are addressing urgent issues in Africa and creating innovative solutions that create lasting change.

Speakers will highlight examples of IT projects that have created some surprising yet sustainable changes in such areas as health, conservation, education, agriculture and finance.

Game Changer: How IT Innovation is Transforming Africa is the eighth in a series of coffeehouse discussions on global development hosted by the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF).

SPEAKERS:
Kelvin Cantafio, Board member, NetHope. Kelvin has more than 20 years of experience bringing IT solutions to developing countries. NetHope brings together 37 leading international humanitarian organizations as catalysts for collaboration so that the best information communication technology and practices can be used to serve the developing world.

Anne-Marie Kamanye, Executive Director at AMREF. AMREF uses mobile technology to train midwives and other health professionals in Africa.
