The 2012 Canadian Beatbox Championship

Beatbox Canada is bringing the nation’s biggest beatbox battle to Toronto with the2012 Canadian Beatbox Championships on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 5 p.m.-11 p.m. at the Virgin Mobile Mod Club.

Beatboxers from across the country sent in video auditions and now the TOP 16 contenders are competing in Toronto for the title to represent Canada on the World Beatbox Battle stage. The bar is set high as they prepare to battle two-time defending Canadian Beatbox Champion, Terry Im, better known as KRNFX (Canada’s Got Talent finalist).

“The competition this year – Freedom of Beats, is about encompassing the raw history and foundation of beatboxing and making it your own,” explains Gary Goudini, director of Beatbox Canada. “It’s a universal language and it’s becoming more and more fluent as it becomes a way of life- a serious career for our artists.”

2012 was a ground-breaking year for the underground beatbox scene as beatboxers gained confidence and professionalism in building their brand. National and international recognition has brought this art form mainstream with campaigns and appearances through Telus, Coca-Cola, TVO, Much Music, MTV, Tic Tac, McDonalds, Samsung, Arab’s and Canada’s Got Talent.

Will Canadian Beatbox Championship finalists AND Canada’s Got Talent finalists Krnfx and Scott Jackson, go head to head yet again for a potential final shot at the title?
