25 by SIX: An Original Six Hockey Exhibition Presented by The SPORT Gallery
This original exhibition comes from the depths of the SPORT magazine archive, featuring some of the greatest – and a few lesser-known - players of hockey’s stirring Original Six era. An exquisite mix of narrative and imagery, the collection leverages both photographic and textual elements in a 12-piece series that aims to revive the greatest era of Canada's greatest sport.
Travel back to a simpler time, when they played for the love of the game as much as the four-figure salaries; when there were no helmets, faces were visor-less and mask-less, and jerseys were nameless. The 1942-1967 era of the National Hockey League, spanning 25 seasons with just six teams following the folding of the New York Americans in the summer of 1942, arguably endures as the most cherished, most memorable time in hockey’s rich history.
