Propeller Centre for the Visual Arts is proud to present, Anatolia, an exhibition featuring Toronto abstract painter, Michelle Letarte. Anatolia refers to Turkey as an historical land that saw the rise and fall of great civilizations. It is a country of contrasts between old and new in superb scenery and landscape. Cultural and geographical diversity make it an incredible destination. Michelle Letarte's, Anatolia, was inspired by her recent trip to this fascinating country.
Letarte's abstract paintings depict ancient walls ravaged by time, travestine terraces eroded by water and ancient sulfurous green water pools. The artist uses pumice and sand to create a sense of texture as well as a palette of natural tones that reflect the colors of Anatolia.
Join us for the opening on Thursday, October 25 from 7- 10pm.
Anatolia will be running from October 24- November 4, 2012.
