To celebrate 1 year of memorable showcases, The New Noise Live is excited to host Army Girls, Elk and The Beverleys on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at The Garrison. The pre-show birthday party kicks off at 7:30pm, bands hit the stage at 8:30pm.

Over the past year The New Noise Live – an indie concert series run out of The Garrison in Toronto – has produced a wide variety of showcases aimed at helping independent Canadian bands gain exposure to industry professionals and music lovers alike. Under the umbrella of Live Nation, The New Noise Live has been able assist musicians in launching videos nationally, gaining national exposure through social media channels, securing interviews on national radio, hosting record release parties, creating audio/visual content for the artists free of charge, raising money for local charities, and offering a professional platform for performance.

New Noise Live performances to-date have included: Harlan Pepper, Brett Caswell & The Marquee Rose, Ben Somer, The Ruby Spirit, The Mark Inside, Mausoleum, Volcano Playground, Ostrich Tuning, Revolvers, The Coppertone, Young Rival, Sandman Viper Command, Jaron Freeman Fox and The Opposite of Everything, The Strumbellas, Amos The Transparent, Modern Superstitions, Michael Rault, and more.

ARMY GIRLS are Carmen Elle (D I A N A) and Andy Smith (Doldrums). Their debut EP, Close to the Bone, was released on Blocks Recording Club (Owen Pallette/Final Fantasy) and produced by Ben Cook of Toronto hardcore band, Fucked Up. ARMY GIRLS’ first full-length album is set for release in late 2012.

After countless NXNE previews buzzed with anticipation, ARMY GIRLS delivered dominating sets on back-to-back nights to packed rooms at the Supermarket and the El Mocambo in Toronto. Named as a can’t-miss band by the Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, A.V. Club, Now Magazine, BlogTO, Torontoist and Chromewaves. ARMY GIRLS is easily one of the most sought after new bands to hit the Toronto scene in years.
