“The peace poet and troubadour for our time.” Cindy Sheehan
(September 27, 2012) – The only Toronto stop on an 11-country tour across Europe and North America, David Rovics in concert on Tuesday October 16, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Winchevsky Centre, 585 Cranbrooke Avenue, Toronto. (5 blocks north of Lawrence, east off Bathurst).
Well-known activist singer-songwriter David Rovics grew up in a family of classical musicians and became a fan of populist regimes early on. By the early 90’s he was a full-time busker and by the mid-90’s he was traveling the world as a professional flat-picking rabble-rouser. These days, David tours regularly on four continents, playing for audiences at cafés, pubs, universities, churches, union halls and protest rallies. He has shared the stage with a veritable who’s who of the left in two dozen countries, and has had his music featured on Democracy Now!, BBC, Al-Jazeera and other networks.
Tickets: $18.00 (in advance by Oct. 12th) or $20.00 (at the door) - by calling 416-789-5502.
Donations of $10.00 and more - in addition to the ticket price - will receive a tax receipt.
