Liberty Village Community Invited to Movie Showing this Friday Night

The community is invited to attend a movie showing in Liberty Village Park this Friday, September 21, co-sponsored by GO Transit’s Georgetown South Project.

The Georgetown South Project is co-sponsoring the event, along with the Liberty Village Residents’ Association and Ellis Don (a general contractor for the Strachan Avenue Overpass construction project) with the goal of helping to bring the community together for an evening of fun outdoor entertainment.

This movie showing is also is meant to show our appreciation for the community’s patience during our construction to expand the rail corridor. The movie featured will be ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,’ a classic 80’s film.

Date: Friday, September 21
Time: Event begins at 7:30 p.m. with movie at 8 p.m.
Location: Liberty Park (70 East Liberty Street), Toronto, Ontario

Building the Strachan Avenue Overpass in the Liberty Village community is one of several major projects that we are undertaking as part of the Georgetown South (GTS) Project

The GTS Project will provide infrastructure improvements to meet existing GO Transit ridership demand and future growth. Through track sharing, it will also accommodate a new Air Rail Link between Toronto’s Union Station and Pearson International Airport.

Members of the Community Relations office, located at 901 King Street West, work to provide residents with construction-related information and keep communities living near the corridor informed. They also work with the community to help influence the design of the project where feasible.
