The Ontario Brewmaster\'s Cup Awards Party

What’s the Ontario Brewmaster’s Cup, you ask?

The OBC is a new award inaugurated this year by four Toronto beer writers: Ben Johnson of blogTO, Crystal Luxmore of The Grid,Greg Clow of Canadian Beer News, and Jordan St. John of QMI/Toronto Sun.

How does OBC work?

Each writer chose an Ontario-brewed beer to compete in four categories – Lagers, Pale Ales/IPAs, Stouts/Porters/Dark Ales, and Wheat/Fruit/Flavoured Beers – and the top beer in each category was selected via a public vote.

Who won?

The four category winners – Steam Whistle Pilsner, Muskoka Mad Tom IPA,Wellington Imperial Stout and Denison’s Weissbier – are now competing in the final round.

Can I help celebrate victory?

Of course you can! The overall Ontario Brewmasters Cup winner will be announced in early September, and an awards party will be held at Rhino Bar & Grill (1249 Queen St. W., Toronto) on Sunday September 16th during Toronto Beer Week.
