The Long Run: A Play in One Act
Presented by Sunnybrook’s Family Navigation Project in association with the Al Green Theatre, Newborn Theatre, and Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre:
The Long Run is a 35-minute, one-act play written by playwright Rachel Ganz. Having won a certificate of merit in playwriting at University of Toronto’s One Act Festival earlier this year, Rachel has offered to stage her play for charity – to raise awareness and reduce stigma around bipolar and other mental health disorders. The Long Run is inspired by Rachel’s own experiences and centres around three teenaged siblings abandoned for a weekend by their mother during a manic episode of her bipolar disorder.
The play will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Rachel Ganz, alongside Sunnybrook experts on the topic.
This event will take place during Mental Health Awareness Week on Thursday, October 11th at 7:30pm. Tickets are $25; $10 for students. Seating is first come, first serve.
