The Hours That Remain Fundraiser

On August 3rd 2012 at the Theatre Passe Mauraille Cabaret Space (16 Ryerson Ave) Join New Harlem Productions (Toronto) & Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company (Saskatoon) in celebrating the upcoming premiere of playwright Keith Barker’s “The Hours That Remain.”

This one night only pwyc event is packed with visual art and live music; featuring Aqua (Nibii Wawashkana), a rare performance by Tara Beagan (Artistic Director of Native Earth Performance Arts) accompanied by Henry Adam Svec, multiple award winning artist Pamela Gilmartin (Sans Cherubs, ), multi-disciplinary artist Gein Wong (A Song for Tomorrow, Summerworks 2012, Thousand Mile Voice, Canadian Stage 2012 BASH resident)and Belladonna & The Awakening. This is the first time in five years that Hip Hop/Spoken Word artist Belladonna has united with the inspiring arrangement that is the Awakening - Jeff Burke, Michael Clark, Johnny Ray Kendrick and Pierre Mongeon.

Haunted by the disappearance of her sister, Barker’s “The Hours That Remain” follows Denise in her desperate search for answers wherever it takes her. Appearing in a series of visions, her sister causes her to question her sanity, while Denise’s husband hides a secret.

In both support and spirit of Barker’s piece NHP and SNTC have put together this night of radical women centre stage. Raise some funds, raise some spirits, raise some fists. Join the celebration.
