The Singer's Jazz Series - Summer Samba feat. Laura Fernandez July 14th

Summer Samba - Sat July 14th show is a summery, Latin influenced evening featuring singer/songwriter; Laura Fernandez, host of Cafe Latino on Jazzfm, along with an exciting line up of captivating vocalists: Laura Marks, Julie McGregor and jazz poet; Chris Hercules. Accompanied by Norman Amadio on piano and Duncan Hopkins on bass.

Pianist Norman Amadio, considered one of the greats, was the first Canadian to play Birdland in NYC in 1956 (opposite Duke Ellington). Norman has worked with most of the greatest jazz masters of all time. For a span of 50 years at the CBC, he was the musical director for countless TV shows and specials accompanying a wide variety of famous stars from Judy Garland to Carmen McCrae.

Bassist Duncan Hopkins has been establishing himself as a composer and arranger around the world, being likened to the best. He is a popular sideman for many artists such as; Diana Krall, Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, John Hicks, Sam Noto, Ed Bickert, D.D. Jackson, Warren Vache, to name but a few.
