The 12th Annual All Canada Classic basketball game is coming to Toronto and will feature a number of top Canadian celebrities.
Taking place at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday, June 13, the All Canada Classic showcases top basketball players from high-schools across the country.
“The All Canada Classic is one of our countries only celebrations of amateur basketball,” said Wayne Dawkins, PHASE 1 President. “Past years have featured current NBA players like Tristan Thompson (Cleveland Cavaliers), Cory Joseph (San Antonio Spurs) and Denham Brown (Seattle SuperSonics).”
Celebrities gearing up to take part in the half-time show include: DJ Starting from Scratch, T Rexxx, JRDN, P Reign, Anthony Farnell and Divine Brown. Students can enter online for a chance to play against local celebrities.
Events scheduled throughout the evening include the top Canadian girl’s game, the top Canadian boy’s game, musical performances by special guests and the awards presentation, which will recognize the academic and athletic achievements of a number of participants.
A portion of all proceeds will be given to Sickle Cell Ontario on behalf of Andrew Nicolson who will be attending the 2012 NBA Draft at the end of June. As National Blood Donor Week is underway, people who visit a Canadian Blood Services clinic from now until June 10 will receive a free ticket to the event.
The event starts at 5 p.m. at the Air Canada Centre. Tickets are $10 for children $20 for students, $25 for adults and $50 for a courtside seat. Tickets are available online or by calling 416-640-7117. For other inquiries, including sponsoring youth, contact events@phase1basketball.com.
