Join curators from Bravo!FACT, Astral’s Harold Greenberg Fund and Canadian Short Screenplay Competition (CSSC) for an informal panel discussion on short film funding. Get familiar with the funds available, for whom and the critical elements for getting your film funded.

Gina Dineen has worked in the creative community as an artist, producer and administrator. She joined Bravo! in 2009 to become Program Administrator at Bell Media’s Bravo!FACT (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent), the largest funder of shorts in Canada. An active volunteer, Dineen sits on the board of several organizations promoting arts and culture in Toronto.

Alan Bacchus, a graduate of Queen’s University and the Vancouver Film School, is a Toronto-based film industry professional. As Programs Manager at Astral’s Harold Greenberg Fund, Alan is responsible for managing the Script Development Program, Astral’s Short Film Program and other Fund initiatives. Prior to Astral, Alan worked at the CFC, Capri Films and Norflicks Productions. Alan has produced and directed a number of successful short films, he writes film reviews for Exclaim! magazine and operates his own personal blog Daily Film Dose.com.

David Cormican is an award winning blogger, performer, filmmaker, producer and founder of the prestigious Canadian Short Screenplay Competition (CSSC). In 2010, Cormican was nominated for the Regina Mayor’s Arts & Business Award for Innovation in the Arts and a recipient of the National Screen Institute’s Drama Prize. Recently, he executive produced The Tall Man, 13 Eerie and Faces in the Crowd. He also produced Rusted Pyre which screened on CBC, and won awards at numerous film festivals. He currently holds the Saskatchewan seat for the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) where he is the youngest serving elected board member.
