From April to October, thousands of people attend our free neighbourhood walking tours. Covering all areas of the city, Heritage Toronto Walks tell the stories behind the people, landscapes and historic buildings that bring Toronto’s neighbourhoods to life.

The Howards of High Park

Explore the lives of John Howard, one of the first architects to come to York and the founder of High Park, and his wife Jemima, on this stroll round the gardens of Colborne Lodge and vicinity.

START POINT: Colborne Lodge, Colborne Lodge Dr, north of The Queensway. Meet at Lodge entrance sign by the parking lot.
FINISH POINT: Pergola near Italian Sunken Gardens, about 5 minutes walk south of The Grenadier Restaurant, Colborne Lodge Dr
LENGTH: Approx. 1 ½ to 2 hours
FOCUS: Historical, natural, architectural
DIFFICULTY: Rough park ground, stairs(down), and hills
