Doors Open Toronto
Doors Open Toronto celebrates 200 Years of Building Our City
On May 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. more than 135 architecturally, historically, culturally and socially significant buildings will open their doors for the weekend and highlight the people who built our city. All for free.
This year, visitors will have the opportunity to peer inside a bank vault, walk the gangway of a tall ship and visit a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) laboratory.
The event allows access to properties that are either not usually open to the public, or would normally charge an entrance fee such as the R.C. Harris Water Filtration Plant, MaRS Discovery District, the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre and many more. Many locations have organized guided tours, displays and activities to enrich the visitor experience.
A City in Focus – photo contest
Visitors can also take part in the Doors Open 2nd annual photography contest for a chance to win one of 5 LUMIX DMC-GF3X cameras.
