Ga-la-licious 2008

May 20, 2008

A night for Nightwood! Gorge on delectable food, capricious comedy and first-rate entertainment. With scores of tantalizing live and silent auctions, hundreds gather for a night of revelry; and all for a good cause.
Last season, Juno-award winner Sarah Harmer dazzled guests, raising over 30k for Nightwood’s productions, training programs and youth initiatives. This 2008, we’re upping the ante:
We’re taking you to THE CARNIVAL, complete with the rockstars of Canadian comedy: Mary Walsh (This Hour Has 22 Minutes) and comedy team Women Fully Clothed. Comedy whiz-kid Kathleen Phillips keeps the evening trotting along as our very own Ring-Mistress, keeping all those crazy magicians, stilt walkers, fortune tellers and buskers on their best behaviour.
You will chow down on culinary delights from some of Toronto’s greatest restaurants: Mangia & Bevi Resto Bar, Aphrodite Cooks and Sasi/Mangrai Thai.
As for the auction - we know you expect more from us than costly emollients and paper weights. This year you can co-star in your own version of “My Dinner with Andre” by making the winning bid on exclusive experiences with fascinating luminaries like Deepa Mehta and Stephen Lewis. Other goodies: trips, spa packages, unique adventures and much, much more.
