Yo Gabba Gabba Live in Toronto
KIDS ROCK TO YO GABBA GABBA!
The cool kid TV show Yo Gabba Gabba! makes its jump from the small screen to the big stage when it breezes through town and hits the Elgin Theatre on March 16th and 17th. The show uses quirky retro style and catchy music to teach simple life lessons to the pre-school set.
Yummy mummy’s and hipster dads alike -- you may be in for a special treat too, as the shows hip factor transcends all other kids shows. The TV show has attracted an array of special guests and musicians ranging from The Roots to MGMT and The Ting Tings that make Gen X parents feel cool again.
The 50-minute live show called “Yo Gabba Gabba! Live: There’s a Party In My City!” uses music, singing, dancing and animation to create an interactive experience that feels part rock concert, part dance party for the mini-me set as DJ Lance Rock and his cast of colorful friends rock the house.
The TV show’s linchpin hip-hop legend Biz Markie, who teaches kids how to beat box, will appear in the live show. Surprise guests will rock out to their favorite Dancey Dance, and The Aquabats, whose front man Christian Jacobs, (aka the Bat Commander) is the co-creator of Yo Gabba Gabba! will perform during the Super Music Friends segment. S2BN Entertainment, led by Toronto’s own Michael Cohl, is the Executive Producer for the show.
