20 delicious street eats from Taste of the Danforth 2014

Posted by Staff / August 11, 2014

taste of the danforthTaste of the Danforth once again descended on Toronto's Greektown this weekend for a 21st season of dishing out street eats to thousands of revellers. Even without the mayoral guest appearance that had the festival making headlines around the world, the festival - and the food, whether Greek, Brazilian, Italian, or Japanese - was a crowd-pleaser and still gave way to (the headline of the summer).

Check out all the eats in our photo gallery.

Oh loukomades... So yummy, so easy to eat a whole dozen in one sitting :(

Rosemary Lamb pie was my must have for years. This year a different place had an Elk Lamb pie - so tasty. I feel a bit bad when I think of that majestic animal sitting in a flaky crust - but not that bad.

Great pictures. I'm sad to have missed the bacon wrapped shrimp.

They aren't honey balls, they are called loukomades. Also, greek fries not greek poutine as there is no gravy.
