dinesafeThe new year is off to a healthy start considering there were no closures this week on DineSafe and only a half dozen offending yellow cards doled out to eateries and one neighbourhood grocer.

Parkdale's Not my Dog is a discouraging addition to the list even if it didn't rack-up any crucial infractions, just significant and minor dings for not maintaining its dishwasher and failing to provide the requisite supplies at sinks. Why is one of them discouraging? All of them should be considered discouraging. Or is it because that one is in precious Parkdale and effects hipsters?

I, for one, only eat at establishments that have a yellow sign out front. It makes the whole dining experience more authentically "ironic"...
