Joining the ranks of hotshot Toronto venues such as Evergreen Brick Works and The Berkeley Church, these new venues are perfect for events such as corporate parties (important for networking), weddings (important for free drinks), cultural celebrations (important for intellect) and extravagant birthday parties that you throw for your pets that no one comes to because they thought the hand-stamped gold-embossed invitation was a joke (important for learning about appropriate life choices for single women in their late twenties).

Located above SPiN, this event space is contemporary, charming and has a great view of King Street. With a large bar and open space for dancing, this venue is suited towards weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs or large family celebrations. The fee depends on the event and timing, ranging from $1500-8K and the maximum occupancy is 215 (standing) or 180 (seated).

Upstairs at Lavish & Squalor
This widely loved clothing and lifestyle store / espresso bar includes an upper level available for events. The gorgeous exposed brick space is perfect for product launches or private film screenings. It holds approximately 120 people and the rental fee is $150-250 hourly, depending on the type and timing of the event.

IQ Lounge
Known for offering daily or monthly office space for companies or freelancers in the historic Dineen Building, IQ Office Suites offers lounge furniture, high top tables and Apple TV with four monitors in its lounge space. An ideal space for a corporate function, the IQ Lounge can hold approximately 100 people (standing) or 50 people (for a sit-down affair) and costs $200 hourly for a minimum three hour rental.

Studio Event Theatre
Meticulously decorated with luxurious leathers and artistic typography, this King West venue would be appropriate for any event where the attendees need to be impressed. Studio Event Theatre can hold 400 people and goes for $1K-3K for the night, depending on the day and season.

Ripley's Aquarium
Certain to impress people to the point of confusion, Ripley's Aquarium is a great event venue that is appropriate for children and adults alike. The sprawling space has two large rooms used for parties that can hold up to 75 guests at $2500-5000, depending on the season. If you really want to wow, the entire aquarium can be bought out to hold up to 1200 guests to the tune of $15-25K for one evening.
