This week on DineSafe: Bahara Cuisine, Canton Chilli, Castro's Fiestahan, Dragon Dynasty, Lil' Bean N' Green, Omi, Pho Dau Bo, Poondy Bread
This week on DineSafe, two Toronto restaurants were shut down due to infestations. Bahara Cuisine House on Carlton Street was first, caught in the midst of a rodent infestation. Next was Castro's Fiestahan on Bathurst, which was forced to close because of an insect infestation. Are we having fun yet? Are these the only citations issued last week or are they a selection from a larger group?
We want to let our customers know what the actual issues were that led to our 48 hour conditional pass. Sometimes, when things are vague, it leads to miscommunication. The biggest issue was that it was the day after Family Day when the new inspector came in and it was an extremely busy day, and our dishwasher broke down. As a result of this, in order to operate, we needed a 3rd sink behind the bar. If we were using the dishwasher to use the dishes- this would have led to contamination due to them being in direct contact with customers. However, we switched to paper plates & cups & plastic utensils until we fixed our dishwasher AND installed a 3rd sink. The other issue was that our freezer in the back was situated too close to our recycling bins (which was never brought up by our previous inspector) so we relocated our bins. This was a new inspector and we complied with her inspection notes and received our Green Pass after the 48 hour period. As you all know, we strive to be a healthy and environmentally facility and took this inspection very seriously and passed! Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any further questions. info@lilbeanandgreen.com
