It helps to know that "Inadequate food temperature control" can mean inadvertently using an expired test strip in a cooler for beer. Really.

When you use the name Philthy McNasty's, you should probably take extra care to avoid being on a list like this.

Right because the 19 year olds that hang out there are surely vigilant about reading up on blogto Dinesafe scores.

FV Foods on Wilson has only recently opened. And already they're on this list. Good grief.

You don't use a test strip for cold temperature. You use a thermometer. If the cooler or fridge is used for perishables, it needs a thermometer. Beer, pop, water = no thermometer. Dairy, meat, fruit/veg, open juices = thermometer. Bars can fail on proper holding temps for not storing juices, fruits or open milk in fridges with working thermometers at 4celcius.

This article is so petty. Many fine establishments have had health code violations. The degree to which penalty is enforced relies on the specific health inspector. I've worked in fantastic restaurants that technically had infractions, yet we got off because it was a one time occurrence that was, in the eyes of the inspector, minor. Shame on you blogto for degrading local businesses with trashy articles like this that catalogue the misjudgements of restaurant supervisors in a fashion that promotes shaming rather than promoting food safety education. Good grief. There are much more pressing issues in Toronto to investigate. Your blog is smut journalism at best. And no, I don't work for any of the listed restaurants.
